Buy Gsm Cell Phones

Buying a new cell phone can be a really difficult task because there so many options but there is more to it than just choosing a good one. You will obviously choose a cell phone which you really like, but there are different factors that you should consider before you decide to buy a cell phone. You first have to pick a service provider and a carrier also. Each carrier in the United States offers a different selection of technologies and services, so it’s important to think about your needs when making a choice.

That’s why you should wisely select a carrier before buying a cell phone. Wireless carriers operate over two different networks: Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) and Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM). GSM is the most popular standard for mobile telephone systems in the world. GSM services are a collection of applications and features available to cell phone subscribers all over the world. The best U.S. carrier is T-Mobile which is recognized worldwide for its GSM service.

GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) is the fastest and most reliable mobile phone technology available on the market today. GSM provides amongst many other features, integrated voice mail, high-speed data, fax, paging and short message services (SMS) and texting capabilities. GSM users and subscribers enjoy an unparalleled privacy, fraud detection services and blazing high speeds. With a GSM phone, you can call practically anywhere in the world! GSM provides wider international roaming capabilities that standard US technologies and allows a mobile phone to become a global one.

The GSM standard also provides separate facilities for transmitting digital data. This allows a gsm cellular phone to act like any other computer on the Internet. It allows the gsm cell phone to send and receive data via the Internet. In addition to general Internet access, other special services are provided by the cell phone operator such as SMS. GSM uses SIM cards in the US, allowing porting phones to different models without having new cell phone activation service.

For practical and everyday purposes, GSM offers users wider international roaming capabilities than other U.S. network technologies and can enable a gsm phone to be a “world phone”. GSM carriers have roaming contracts with other GSM carriers and mostly cover rural areas in comparison to competing CDMA carriers. GSM uses digital technology and is a second-generation (2G) cell phone system. GSM out stands CDMA and is especially strong in Europe. GSM reigns as the world’s most widely used cell phone technology.

How does one feel more inspired everyday?

How does one feel more inspired everyday? Inspiration is the stimulation of the mind or emotions to a high level of feeling or activity. Inspiration comes from the Latin, inspirare which means “To breathe, to blow into …the Spirit is within.” If you want to feel and be inspired today, here are five suggestions:

1. Movies and music have always been a great source of inspiration. I recall that a key contributor reporting to me told me he was going after his dream to be a radio sports announcer after seeing the movie, “Field of Dreams.” The movie, “Forrest Gump” continues to be a source of inspiration for me. I’d recommend obtaining “The 100 Greatest Movies of All-time” by the American Film Institute. Be aware as well that some movies and music can un-inspire you, so watch a classic movie tonight.

2. Dare to dream…BIG. Only 5% of Americans have goals in writing according to numerous studies, so it’s no surprise that most people don’t feel or act inspired. When you have a worthwhile, meaningful goal, objective or outcome written down that you’re striving towards, your inspiration will increase. If you have goals, remember what Michaelangelo said: “The greater danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we hit it.” Stretch yourself today, because we use 10% or less of our mental potential.

3. Contrast, and “count your blessing, not your troubles.” In 25 years of working in personal development, I’ve noticed that when I or my clients have the opportunity to contrast their problems with other people’s problems, they quickly come to realize that “I have it better than I thought.” We take so much for granted, and tend to focus on the negative vs. the positive, which is a human tendency that must constantly be battled. One way to accomplish this is before you go to sleep tonight, count all of your blessings, and count none of your “troubles.” It’s also a great way to start off the morning, too. What are you thankful for? An attitude of gratitude lifts the spirit to more consistent inspiration.

4. One of the primary and best ways to be more consistently inspired is to attend church. A report from the Dallas Morning News: those who regularly attend worship service experience reduced amounts of suicide, drug and alcohol abuse, crime, and out-of-wedlock births compared to those who do not attend regular worship service. In addition, they are happier, healthier, have a lower rate of depression, higher level of self-esteem, less divorce, and yes – better sex. They also earn an average of $1100 a month more than those who do not regularly attend worship service. If you already attend church, tithe or give-away five percent of your income – I promise, you’ll be inspired.

5. The greatest source of hope for the future (beyond God and church) and inspiration today is growing personally in our skills, knowledge and attitudes: personal development. If one feels as if they are stagnated or slipping backwards, that person rarely feels inspired, stimulated to high levels of achievement. On the other hand, when you and others notice that you’re growing as a person, changing some of your destructive habits, changing your thinking and attitudes, you feel more of a sense of hope – and that hope is inspirational, knowing that a better day is soon coming because you are becoming a better you! It’s almost guaranteed; remember, patience is a form of action.

Follow these five suggestions for how to become more consistently inspired – feeling, thinking and acting like you have unusual energy, drive, perseverance and calm expectancy of near-term results – and you’ll know for certain that you are headed in the right direction in life. Trust that still, small voice that says, “This might work, and I’ll try it.” Mark Twain said it best:, “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

The Dark Side Of Hypnosis

The Dark Side of Hypnosis

We have all enjoyed a good story about the ‘dark side of hypnosis’, a suspenseful tale of assassination, murder, love gone wrong or revenge.  These are common entertainments in the world of tall tales we thrive within.

The ‘dark side of hypnosis’ is a common theme among books, movies and television, but is there truly a ‘dark side’ of hypnosis?  In a way there is, however the ‘dark side’ of hypnosis is much more common and mundane than the entertainment industry would lead you to believe.

In fact the entertainment industry is much a part of the ‘dark side’ of hypnosis as any other means in our society.

As we have learned hypnosis is a natural and common occurrence in our everyday lives.  For the most part we are constantly flowing in and out of hypnotic trances daily without realization of them.

Many times we are hypnotized quite by accident and these instances are generally harmless and well intentioned.  Other times trances and hypnosis is projected upon us very purposefully, designed to drive you to buy, sell or do something you may not normally desire to do.

The main culprits of purposeful hypnosis that you may not be aware of are the media, news, government, advertising, post as well as other people’s opinions.  If you take a moment to think back to a time when there was no television, you will often picture a farm family with no more possessions than they need, maybe a candle burning for light and a fire to cook food by.

Yet happy in the world they have created for themselves without the influence of a television constantly projecting the ‘needs’ of everyday life.  If you compare this to today’s home life where most televisions are on at almost every hour of the day, a very different reality takes place.

We are being influenced everyday by thousands of messages targeted directly to persuade us to purchase bigger, nicer, better, more convenient items. GPS takes the place of maps, disposable diapers instead of cloth and TiVo giving you the ability to never miss a single hypnotic message on TV.

Honestly, I have yet to see a Swifter in a museum or on an episode of Little House on the Prairie. Most advertising is created very purposefully, their objective and business is to influence you to buy an item, one you may be persuaded to think you need.

For more information please Click Here

This is an example of the true, as un-ominous as it may sound, dark side to hypnosis.  In being persuaded to buy a new car, when our current vehicle runs fine and may only need a good washing, we are not improving the self from within, we are using a material object to make ourselves feel better about our status in life.

The news is just as abusive in its power to influence our lives, news is no longer about bringing new happening events into our lives as it is now about driving you to watch the news.

News by definition is supposed to report recent events, intelligence and information.  However I am sure you realize by now the news is about catching our interests, what will bring us in to watch, bad news; murder, war, rape, financial instability, disease; the list is endless.

Good news would be much too repetitive and boring day after day; the sun rose, Joe had a great day at work and his wife managed to stay sane while watching their four children.  The story you will hear on the news however is Joe went to work, there was a terrorist attack and his wife could no longer manage the children so she drown them in the bath tub.

The danger of this dark side of hypnosis is that it can often create a false impression of the world we live in; sure it is important to know when bad things happen and to educate yourself to prevent them.

What is dangerous is to think that everyday the ‘news’ is all that is happening in our world.  Joe and his family above definitely had a bad day no doubt about it, but there were millions and millions of other families that had perfectly normal happy days as well; little Jimmy got an A, Sally learned to do a cartwheel, mom kept the grocery bill under $300.00 and dad experienced a rewarding day at work and came home an hour early.

The news no longer gives us an accurate representation of the world in which we live, because they to have been influenced to want more, better ratings and more achievement awards.

Hypnosis is a powerful thing and it is important to realize these dangers in a world that is so prevalent with hidden messages and suggestion. The mundane hypnotic dangers of our world come to us through the unconscious being influenced by our societies influences and suggestions.

How do you compensate and keep a sane and realistic view of life?  Take action in your own mind, choose what you believe, pay attention to the things that are happening around you.  The easiest way not to fall victim to the ‘dark side of hypnosis’ or break negative hypnotic messages is to think rationally, critically, and originally.  Know who you are and do not be a stranger to skepticism.

Skepticism allows you to make your own decisions about what you take in as your true beliefs in life.  Analyzing and ridiculing information will stand as a defense against negative messages and protect your mind from all around general pessimism.

health and safety – and its relationship with the cdm regs

For Health and Safety Professionals registered with IOSH it’s now a requirement as aprt of the chartered status that CPD is constantly maintaiined and documented.

There are a whole host of courses out there with little or no merit and those that are extremely useful (not just health and safety courses).

Health and Safety Consultants have jumped on the CPD bandwagon and offer anything from one day CDM courses to 2 day DSE? I put the question mark there because I’m not sure that DSE merits anywhere near 2 days of our time. Health and Safety Professionals associate CPD with attendance at costly courses. However CPD is a mixture of both courses, reading maetrial and everyday experiences that give you the base knowledge.

We do things in our everyday lives that contribute towards CPD, attendance at presentations, giving presentations, reading industry literature. the problem is we dont note these things down enough and its always a last minute panic to ensure that we get the required points in on time. Construction health and safety is an interesting one. I’ve learnt so much from just being on site and attending design team meetings.

As a CDM Coordinator it’s imperative that we note down what we’ve learnt so that we can take it onto the next project. Having been in the industry 10 years there’s been an awful lot of note taking. CDM is about experiences coupled with theoretical knowledge but you can never really gain from a book what you can in a meeting or discussion on site.

As chartered professionals we should be maintaining this level of attention to CPD to really demonstrate our skills but sadly this is done enough.

I’ve just put a powerpoint presentation together on the merits of the CDM regs for an Architectural practice this was certainly worth a few CD points anyway.

Internet Paid Surveys ? Rules of Engagement

Internet paid surveys can make you extra income to pay off bills, buy your latest dream toy – an Xbox 360 or PS3 and supplement your main income. But there are some simple rules of engagement you should be aware of to aid you when taking these free online paid surveys.

A Little about Internet paid surveys

Internet paid surveys are generally offered and conducted by marketing research companies or even branding companies with in-house market research arm. They often represent the product developers or creators, ie the businesses behind the consumer brands. These customers need information that would assist them in making business decisions concerning the market trends, market needs and how to launch their new products. Market research companies then find pre-qualified participants and conduct targeted survey with them. The details and results are compiled and analyzed for use by their clients. In the process, survey takers are paid monetary rewards for their participation.

What are the general rules of internet paid surveys?

Expect to fill a screening questionnaire at the market research company offering internet paid surveys. The questionnaire is meant to profile you according to your hobbies, interest, skills, knowledge, education, occupation, age, gender and locality. These questions are important to the online survey companies in matching your profile with the internet paid surveys they have. Your personal details are safe with them as they do not sell your information to a third party.

Be truthful when filling up your details. Of course, the trick to qualifying for more surveys is to indicate interest in almost every profiling question listed. Check those boxes in interests or hobbies which you do know something about so that you can give meaningful and honest opinions when requested to do the surveys. Yet, do not be surprised that some companies do not need you to take a profiling questionnaire first before accepting your application. This is the case for survey companies that offer free internet paid surveys in general topics and interests.

Registration at the survey company is free. If some market research company charges you, do not use it. A legitimate market research company should never charge you registration fees. But do not mistake this with websites that offer you lists or directories of online paid survey companies. I will explain more later.

Once you are registered, you should be expecting to start taking an internet paid survey within the next hour to about two weeks later. Do not be overly anxious if it takes a bit longer. The surveys will arrive sooner or later. Provide your genuine responses and feedback about the services or products listed in the questionnaire. Sometimes, you may be called to use a free product sample and give your assessment of the product. Such products can be shampoo, conditioners, vitamins and the like.

Internet paid surveys normally take a few minutes to less than one hour to complete and can pay you a decent amount of money from $2 – 50. This is perfect if you can spare a few hours everyday to complete them.

Depending on how much time you can spare, there are opportunities for focus group discussions. These take longer to complete but the cash rewards are significantly higher. At times, you can even get to earn $100 onwards for a one to two hour discussion. If you love talking and interactions, this is suitable for you.

These are the simple rules you have to know about free internet paid surveys. Earlier, I mentioned that there are websites that offer lists or directories of companies that offer internet paid surveys. These sites went through the trouble of researching on market research companies to give survey takers a compiled listing of the ones that are most reliable with high payouts. Read my survey blog to find out more.

The Stages Of Alzheimer’s Disease

One vexing thing about Alzheimer’s, especially in the beginning, is how its effects differ from person to person. The person you’re caring for might not experience every symptom or behavioral change, and the disease’s timetable can vary. A particular Alzheimer’s stage may last years longer for one person than for another, and symptoms can be experienced at earlier or later stages than described below. Because Alzheimer’s is a progressive disease, however, it always starts with mild symptoms and gradually worsens as it continues.

Mild (Early-Stage) Alzheimer’s Disease

During this first Alzheimer’s stage, someone with the disease is likely to continue his or her usual activities, with Alzheimer’s-related changes being written off as “getting older,” “stress,” being “tired,” or “simple mistakes.”

Memory: Memory lapses are typically the first sign, often years ahead of later symptoms. At this stage, it’s common to forget things more often or have trouble remembering details about even familiar topics. Of special difficulty will be recalling recent events and people met later in life, as well as learning and retaining new information. That’s why asking repetitive questions is a hallmark of the disease, as is writing notes to oneself about things like where the car is parked. It’s common, too, to repeat comments and stories within minutes without realizing it. (Long-term memory, such as childhood recollections, may remain fairly detailed.)

Communication and social skills: Someone with Alzheimer’s may have trouble finding the right word. Often people in this early Alzheimer’s stage are aware that something is amiss, though they may not be sure what’s wrong. They therefore shy from situations where they feel put on the spot or vulnerable to embarrassing mistakes, such as social outings, time with friends, or even telephone conversations.

Everyday life:
At this stage, they’re easily confused and distracted. They may find it hard to keep track of the time and miss appointments or favorite TV programs. Abstract thinking and making sound judgments become more difficult. They may lose the initiative to partake in activities that were once pleasurable (hobbies, a job) or routine (cooking, writing checks). They may misplace objects regularly or store them in unusual places, then forget where they put them.

Personality: Somone at this stage may seem to be acting unlike his or her old self. They may become irritable or angry when disease symptoms are disruptive or embarrassing. Mood swings are common and usually stem from frustration.

Other: You’ll notice “good” days where the person you’re concerned about seems unchanged and “bad” days when he or she is having trouble coping, especially in situations that are new, unusual, or otherwise stressful. At this stage, it’s common to get lost, leave a stove burner on, lock one’s self out of the car or house, or experience other such incidents.

Symptoms characteristic of early-stage Alzheimer’s disease now become more evident as they worsen, become more frequent, and are harder to “cover up.”

Memory: Repetitive statements and questions are very common, and they may occur within minutes of each other.

Communication and social skills: As ongoing memory lapses combine with greater difficulty in tracking conversations and contributing meaningfully to them, some people become more timid socially and more apprehensive about speaking up. Others become less inhibited and demonstrate less tact in social situations. In this Alzheimer’s stage, it becomes common to confuse people, especially if they resemble one another (like a mother and daughter). Cognitive impairment and declining hand coordination affect written communication; someone who once wrote letters and sent birthday cards now stops. Many middle-stage Alzheimer’s sufferers stop reading, too, and even TV programs may be too hard to follow.

Everyday life: Expect more difficulty with abstract thinking and with making good judgments. He or she may have trouble following written directions, such as cooking from a recipe or filling out a form. (Verbal instructions are more challenging, and problems with them are usually evident earlier.) Even routine, familiar activities that involve a sequence of steps, such as preparing a meal or dressing, may be difficult to complete. Someone who’s still driving is at increased risk because of disorientation, decreased coordination, problems judging spatial relationships, and slower response times. Failing judgment makes him or her vulnerable to poor decisions regarding safety, health, or finances.

Personality: Mood changes and personality alterations become more obvious, especially late in the day or when he or she is tired. He or she may become distrustful of loved ones, including you, or make unfounded accusations. Anxiety is common and is sometimes expressed by rummaging through drawers, aggressive behavior, yelling, or wandering through or away from the house. Hallucinations or delusions occur. Depression is a risk, often characterized by changes in appetite and sleep habits (he or she may be a lot hungrier or less hungry than usual, for example, or sleep much more or less than usual).

Other: During middle-stage Alzheimer’s, it’s common to get disoriented in familiar environments as well as unfamiliar ones. Unplanned or new activities can be especially troubling. The sense of smell may be less sensitive, and incontinence becomes more common.

By this final Alzheimer’s stage, it’s common to be bedridden and completely dependent on others, as the person can no longer reason or manage the most basic self-care.

Memory: As memory problems worsen, they begin to affect recollections from even the distant past. He or she may no longer recognize even close family members, including a spouse or children. He or she may not even recognize his or her own self when looking at photos or in the mirror and may consistently forget to take medicine and do everyday tasks like tooth brushing.

Communication and social skills:
As language skills decline, many peole at this stage speak nonsensically. They may make strange sounds, hum, or moan. Or they might cease to speak altogether. It’s likely by now that the person you’re caring for is quite socially withdrawn and has abandoned many previously enjoyed and familiar activities.

Everyday life:
Even relatively simple, necessary activities, such as eating and taking care of personal hygiene, require assistance. Both gross motor skills (walking and sitting up) and fine motor skills (buttoning a shirt, holding a spoon) are affected. Falls and injuries are a risk as coordination and depth perception decline. Repetitive movements and actions are common. Someone at this stage spends a lot of time sleeping.

Personality:
Because the changes have become so marked, he or she may seem nothing like his or her old self. Sometimes jolly people turn crotchety, while formerly stern people may become docile and benign. By the last stages of Alzheimer’s, many people express no emotions at all.

Other: Monitoring health, nutrition, and safety and general caretaking is now a round-the-clock task. He or she may lose significant weight (because eating is difficult) and acquire infections or fall ill easily (because of general weakness). People weakened by this final Alzheimer’s stage more often die from another health problem (pneumonia, secondary infection, cancer) than they do from Alzheimer’s itself.

Wood sculptures ? living tradition

In the south of the Sahara, wood is the most commonly used material for carving. Nowadays, wooden sculptures are still very much an existing tradition. Today, many people worldwide are fascinated by the aesthetic appeal of imaginative and creative African Art.

It is difficult to envision as to how African tribal sculptors have viewed their very own work, however, they have certainly not perceived it as art reflecting the western approach from recent centuries.

Tribal carving is prepared for a clear and practical purpose. A figure may represent an ancestor destined to stand in a place of worship, otherwise everyday objects, figurines; ceremonial objects, sculptures and decorative items are reflected.

Selecting the correct wood indicates that the carving will last for many years. When the incorrect wood is utilised, the carving may shrink or crack. Wood is, after all, a “living” material and is subject to changes regarding climate and humidity.

Certain woods are becoming rare, and, in turn, are difficult to source.

Ironwood

Ironwood is an exceptionally solid and beautiful brown wood found in Zimbabwe and parts of South Africa. When dry, it still remains heavy because of the density of the grains.

It consists of a dark red or deep reddish brown colour. The timber has proven to be extremely durable. Ironwood is a common name for a wide variety of African trees or shrubs that possess exceptionally hard or dense wood. Although the name is generally applied to trees of three unrelated genera, scores of other trees are also known as ironwood in local usage and terms. Because it is so dense, it will not float in water; therefore carving anything from this material can be extremely difficult.

Southern Africa is home to many master carvers of Ironwood, especially in Zimbabwe. They use hand held tools to initiate producing these works of art.
The tree is white on the outside (sap wood) and dark brown on the inside (heart wood). Polishing accentuates the natural colour of the wood, while the finished heart wood ranges from brown to black, depending on the age of the tree.

At BATANAI we take great care in selecting our Ironwood carvings to make sure they have been properly dried.

Sandalwood

Exceptionally rare, this wood is also tricky to find. In many parts of Africa, this wood is protected. It has a beautiful aroma, which lasts for years, and comes from the thick and heavy sap. The grain is interesting and contains many swirls and twists that enhance the natural beauty of the wood.

Ebony

This is known as a black hardwood, famous for it’s lustrous beauty. It is a delicacy in the world of the African wood sculptor. Skilled ebony sculptors tend to migrate to the few regions of Africa where ebony wood is grown. A highly dense wood with a dark interlocking grain, ebony wood is normally brown on the outside of the tree, and black on the inside. The carvings often appear as a beautiful mixture of black and brown, but the pure dark black wood that is the most renowned grain. It is interesting to note that ebony is probably the world’s most expensive wood.

Cut Your Expenses To Climb Out Of Debt

One way to climb out of debt, or better yet avoid it altogether, is to learn how to stop wasting money. Americans are the most frivolous spenders on the planet. We also have the highest levels of personal debt. Of course impulse buys that end up in the attic can hurt the budget. But, it is our big-ticket purchases and routine spending that do the most to contribute to our debt over time and weaken our financial health.

For some, wealth is the result of investing well and saving. However, for many of us, it can come more realistically from not spending so much on items and events we just take for granted.

One of the first financial mistakes many make everyday is spending too much on premium coffee.
It’s fine to treat yourself once in a while, especially if you enjoy it more than your coffee at home or at the office. But, spending $3.00 for a fancy gourmet coffee drink everyday can add up, as can the calories in some of those creamy, sugar laden drinks! If you add up the dollar amount, it comes to about $1,000 in a year. Invest that same amount in an IRA annually and it can add up to a significant amount of retirement money. Even if you buy really good coffee to grind and brew at home, you will still save money. If time is your concern, making your own brew can actually be faster than waiting in a drive though line.

Use your public library to check out DVD’s and books instead of buying or renting them. Many libraries are now a part of a sharing network so collections have been expanded. Some offer online catalogs that you can use to browse and reserve from your home. Even digital audio books are available to download to your computer. Books are worth buying if you plan to use them again and again as a reference. But if it is a novel or magazine that you plan to read just once, borrow it from the library.

Pack a lunch. The least expensive way to eat lunch is to bring food from home. It’s also the best way to know exactly what it is you are eating. Frozen dinners are even less expensive than sandwiches from the local deli. When you do eat out, find the healthiest meal for the best value. Our fast food cravings have lead us to ever increasing obesity rates and diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure and heart disease. The childhood obesity epidemic is a national tragedy. The resulting medical bills will be a cause of bankruptcy among many individuals.

Slow down on the road. Driving at lower speeds uses less gas. Make sure you perform regularly scheduled maintenance on your car to keep it running more efficiently. Driving at the speed limits can also save a fortune on speeding tickets and the resulting raised insurance premiums. If you are considering going for a Sunday drive, consider going for a walk instead. Another option is getting out your bike. It should go without saying, but when buying a new car, look for fuel efficiency. Gas prices will continue to climb, so check out the new hybrids.

Save money on new cars by avoiding the expensive option packages. Do you really need a fancy global positioning system when maps have served you so well for years? Instead of spending thousands on fancy extras, spend the money on the base model of a better car or truck. You will be glad you did when it comes time to sell.

Maybe it’s time to reconsider all of your entertainment expenses. Add up what you spend on DVD’s, cable TV, movies, sports, magazines, clubs, bars, concerts, events and dinners. If you are trying to cut your debt, add up what you are spending on entertainment. How does the amount compare to the amount you are spending on debts and other expenses?

Don’t shop till you drop. Even if that new dress or shoes are a real bargain, ask yourself if you really need them. Survey your closet to see what you already have. If you do not really need more right now, if you can coordinate clothes differently or if you can focus on need verses the latest fashion avoid impulsive buying. Limit your shopping to once a month or once per season and take advantage of end of season sales.

Watch the wedding expenses. The average American wedding now costs $30,000. It’s not uncommon for the wealthy to spend over $100,000 for their nuptials. Keep in mind the meaning and purpose of the event, to celebrate your new marriage and to enjoy the company of friends and family. It is a shame to start out your new life with major debt from the ceremony. It is an unfortunate reality too, that 50% of marriages fail today. So, keep weddings simple and meaningful and do not get too wrapped up in the glitz and appearance.

Stop smoking. Smokers in America spent $88,000,000,000 on tobacco products last year. Depending on your location, a pack will cost you $3.00 to $7.00. Add that cost to your increased medical bills, and we are talking about a major expense. To be really smart, don’t think you are saving lots of money buying cigarettes by the carton just quit buying them altogether.

Put more time into selecting meaningful Christmas presents for loved ones. Instead of worrying about how much we need to spend, try to think about a gift that will bring joy to the receiver. Often, in haste, we buy expensive gift cards or random products online because we are just out of ideas. You don’t have to spend in excess to make the holidays happy.

Last but not least, there is our gambling habit. The gambling industry has changed its name to gaming to clean up its image. One new tactic to get you to spend more is installing slots that no longer accept coins; only bills discharged as electronic vouchers to put into another machine. If you are not dealing in real money, you are less likely to see your loses as real. Every time you walk into a casino, look around at all the glitz and know that you are the one paying for it.

By making some simple changes in how you spend your hard earned cash, you can avoid having a drained bank account, maxed-out credit cards and constant, nagging money anxiety. Think about how saving money in big and small ways can provide a faster road to long-term financial security and happiness.
